If his health allows it, President Hugo Chávez will rule Venezuela for another term, until 2019, said Venezuela's people in the last election.
Although the opposing media kept saying that it would be a risky election for Chávez, and that his defeat was a big possibility, his followers and the majority of Venezuela's population said yes to his socialist project.
The fact that more than half the people vote for Chávez, "we are the majority", as the re-elected President likes to say, <is the pillar of legitimacy that [...] protects it from critics at home and abroad who claim Venezuela is veering towards autocracy and tyranny.>, the author of the article says.
An extraordinary story surrounds Chavéz journey, from a poor boy to a vehement politic, loved by most of his people and hated by a lot, inside and outside of the country. Before Chávez, Venezuela was a "supposedly prosperous democracy", but in reality, corruption, poverty and social exclusion ravaged the country. After a coup attempt, Chávez rose as a politic, and in 1998 he won the presidential election. At the beginning, his policies were even called "conservative" by some, but through the years he has been steering his country towards socialism, amidst internal division and critics of authoritarianism and corruption.
Today, illness and internal problems are the main concerns of the newly elected president, but his victory, in contrast with the opposition's sayings, once more proved that his campaign slogan is true: <"Chávez es el pueblo". Chávez is the people.>

Cats, cats, cats :3
Today's assignment is to write about anything, so I'm going to tell you abut my cats.
The first one is Alicia, I'm her pet, she's almost like my wife and I love her above almost everyone and everything. She is a tuxedo cat, her belly and paws are white and the rest of her body is black, her eyes are yellow on the outside and green on the inside and her second birthday is coming soon. Her personality is very special, on the outside she's very arrogant and solitary, but in the inside she is tender and sweet, every night she asks for cuddling and she sleeps with me every time, she's always looking for my attention. Then comes Princesa, my mother's cat, she was a stray cat and my mother rescued her and brought her to my house, she's very shy and humble. She ha very bright and beautiful green eyes, her hair has a lot of colours but she is mainly brown and orange, and she was pregnant when my mother took her home, picture!:

Princesa!
Our last cat is Julieta, she's Princesa's daughter. She has 2 sisters and 1 brother, but we gave them away and she's the one that stayed with us. She's very pretty, almost entirely grey and white with shades of brown and orange, she's very hairy and her eyes are a very bright shade of gold, she's still a little kitty so she likes to play a lot and bother my other cats, she loves her mother and behaves like a dog, when you throw something she goes looking for it and then she brings it back! So, these are my cats, I love playing with them even though they cause some trouble in my house, but I love them anyway :)

Brazil & me
I don't like remembering the past, so I can't say that I have a "favourite holiday", so I'll talk about my last holidays instead.
I went to Brazil, specifically Búzios and Río.
Yes, I'm a lucky guy.
This holidays were this year on January's first week, the week where the government gave us the results of our PSU test. Brazil is a very special country, and I really loved Río, it's an awesome city. I know there are a lot of poor people in Río, and I thought it was very interesting that the really expensive houses were so close to the favelas, that way rich people can't ignore the country's inequalities. I went there with my father, his wife, Angélica and my two brothers. I spent 4 days in Búzios and 2 days on Río, we went to different beaches (the ones on Búzios and the famous ones on Río, Copacabana and Ipanema) and obviously to the great landmarks, Corcovado hill and Maracaná stadium. We spent some pretty good time walking across the city and talking to people, one of the things I liked the most was that people there are very friendly and nice, and they can understand almost everything you tell them in Spanish, although I couldn't understand a lot of thing about Portuguese.
I heavily recommend going to Brazil, it's impossible having a hard time!

This is Búzios

And this is some of Río.
